Issued at 11:00 pm CST Sunday 6 February 2011 Synoptic Situation: At 9.30 pm CST, Ex-Tropical Cyclone Yasi 1002 hPa was located near latitude 24.6S, longitude 130.8E, about 85 kilometres north of Yulara. It is expected to continue moving steadily towards the west overnight and cross into WA early on Monday. Heavy rain conducive to flash flooding is possible in the Alice Springs District overnight. These conditions are expected to ease from the east as the low moves west and weakens on Monday morning. The Northern Territory Emergency Service advises that people should secure loose outside objects and seek shelter when the conditions deteriorate. Driving conditions may be hazardous - avoid flooded roads and watercourses. The next warning is due to be issued by 5 am Monday.
